After informing viewers about the latest news hitting the headlines, with much of today’s discussion dedicated to Will Smith’s apology for slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars, the presenter opened up about the fact that she was suffering from hay fever.
However, while it initially appeared as though she was going to soldier through on the show, later on, it was revealed that someone else had stepped in to take over.
Explaining where Ranvir had gone, Susanna said: ‘It’s five past seven, we have the rest of the day’s news now, and it’s no longer Ranvir.’
Addressing presenter Louisa James, who had now joined them behind the panel, Susanna continued: ‘Louisa, you’ve stepped in. How is Ranvir doing?’

‘Ranvir is fine. Well, I think she’s going to be fine. We think she’s had a bit of an allergic reaction, she’s got a bit of sore eyes. But she’s just resting,’ Louisa explained.
Richard remarked that it was the ‘worst case of hay fever I think I’ve ever seen’, as Susanna stressed that ‘it is particularly bad for hay fever sufferers at the moment’, before thanking Louisa for stepping in.
Before the start of GMB this morning, Ranvir opened up about how bad her hay fever symptoms were.
Taking to Twitter, she wrote: ‘Anyone else got the worst most painful stinging hay-fever they’ve ever had? I can barely keep my eyes open. If there was a vaccine for this I’d sign up asap :(.’
Following the news that she had to step away from GMB to ‘rest’, several viewers expressed their hope that she’s doing alright.
‘Aw Ranvir, so sorry you are having a bad day,’ one person said, while another wrote: ‘Ranvir, get well soon x.’
It was recently reported that experts are warning rising temperatures may cause tree pollen levels to spike across the UK this year, causing trouble for hay fever sufferers.
It is believed that climate change could be leading to an extension of the grass and tree pollen season, with it starting earlier.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
