Killing Eve season 4 is heading for a dramatic ending, with lead writer Laura Neal giving us a stark warning about our favourite characters.

The beloved Sandra Oh (Eve Polastri) and Jodie Comer (Villanelle) series will come to an end in a few episodes’ time, so the pressure is on as to how the writers will wrap things up.

Teasing what we can expect, Laura told ‘I hope fans will be really excited by the ending. It’s Killing Eve so there will be blood, but I hope the fans will find it glorious and triumphant.

‘That was the kind of feeling we wanted people to come away with when we were talking about the final episode.’

We’ve seen so many sides of Eve and Vilanelle’s relationship, with Laura admitting she loves the different interpretations of how they connect to each other, whether that’s ‘romantically, sexually, platonically or cosmically’.

As for where their relationship is headed, Laura told us after a long pause: ‘I think there’s going to be resolution and I think there’s going to be a sense of completion.’

Take that as you will!

Meanwhile, as we’ve seen from plenty of shows, most prominently Game of Thrones, writing a long-awaited finale to a beloved series likely to come with a lot of criticism – and Laura’s prepared for it.

‘I think with a show like this that generates so much discussion and that generates so much debate, you’re never going to be able to please everybody,’ she pointed out.

‘That’s part of what makes the show great as well. I’m braced for us not being able to please everybody but I’m really delighted with the ending, I know our actors are delighted with the ending and I hope that, even if they don’t agree with it, fans will see how much love we put into the ending.’

Buckle in!

Killing Eve returns Monday on BBC iPlayer.
