LIVING IN ITALY
Joe stayed with his grandmother in Sala Consilina following his release from ICE custody in 2019.
The ex-Bravo star – who never obtained his citizenship in America – was deported to his native country after going to prison alongside his ex-wife Teresa for exaggerating their income, hiding increased assets, and failing to file tax returns between 2004 and 2008.
Joe, 49, opened up about living in his grandmother’s house on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen shortly after his arrival.
He explained his new living conditions, saying the house: “is small, but it’s fine.”
The Real Housewives alum also opened up about being away from his family in New Jersey: “I mean, it’s not a good feeling. I’m here, I’m happy I’m out, but I’m sad at the same time.
“I’m sad I’m not with my family, I’m sad I’m not with my wife, of course ,and with all my friends back at home. That’s where my life is. It’s not here. It’s there.”
Joe’s four daughters often visit their father in Italy and the Bahamas, where he also splits his time.
Gia defended her father on the show’s latest season after her uncle Joe Gorga described him as “the devil.”
The TV personality snapped: “If you’re going to come at me disrespectfully, then I won’t talk to you.”
Gia continued: “I’m an adult now, too, so you can talk to me like one. Because I’m done with you being disrespectful.”
The drama continues on the reunion special, where Joe, 42, storms off set and threatens to quit the show amid his feud with Teresa, 49, and his niece.
