WHETHER you prefer a classic bold red or a subtle swipe of nude, your choice of lip colour reveals so much about your personality before you even speak.

From “bubbly” hot pink to “sassy” crimson and “adventurous” orange, what does your favourite go-to lipstick colour say about you?
CRIMSON: SASSY, BOLD & CONFIDENT
Bold red lips are all about making a statement.
And women who favour a classic shade of crimson are most likely to be bursting with passion and excitement, according to Monika and Ieva.
“Crimson, a warmer red, represents determination and success whilst also emitting an air of sensuality,” the psychologist and doctor explain.
They go on to suggest that this sultry shade is best suited to a cocktail night out with the girls.
However, Ieva notes a downside to a red lipstick-wearer, adding: “A person that wears red gives off vibes of confidence but beware, as they
could also be prone to aggression and have a defiant nature.”
HOT PINK: BUBBLY & PLAYFUL
Are you bubbly and energetic? If so, and hot pink isn’t your go-to shade, it may be worth re-thinking your lipstick choice.
“In colour psychology pink is a sign of hope,” Ieva notes. “It inspires positive thoughts and comforting feelings.”
She goes on to add that this shade of pink will liven up any party and is “definitely for girls that want to have fun.”
NUDE: CLASSIC & SOPHISTICATED
Nude shades are associated with warmth and emit a practical and comforting aura, doctor Monika and psychologist Ieva say.
As the shade “gives off an air of authority,” it’s the perfect lipstick choice to wear to work.
BROWN: COMPOSED & DEPENDABLE
Brown shades tend to be viewed as strong colours which are linked with reliability and strength.
And according to Ieva, the colour is most commonly associated with a composed and dependable person, and is “perfect as an everyday lipstick if you have darker skin.”
However, there’s a downside, with the psychologist warning: “A brown lipstick wearer may also have an air of heaviness around them as well as be lacking a sense of humour.”
BRICK RED: STRONG & COURAGEOUS
This dark red shade may be a more subtle version of its brighter crimson counterpart, but it still “screams vibrancy, energy and vitality,” the experts note.

Women who rock a dark rouge lip also tend to ooze confidence in a more sophisticated way.
For that reason, they advise that brick red lipstick is a great option for business meetings.
BABY PINK: KIND, GIRLY & EMPHATIC
A softer alternative to hot pink, this pastel shade is often linked to personality traits including kindness and compassion.
According to the experts, the “soft feminine colour” is closely associated with love and romance.
So they suggest it’s the ideal shade to wear to events such as weddings.
BLACK: ALTERNATIVE & COOL
Dare to experiment? Then why not try a black lippy…
According to the experts, the colour is symbolic of “power, elegance and mystery.”
They add: “Let your inner alt girl shine with bold black lips. They pair perfectly with indie or rock concerts.”
BURGUNDY: WEALTH & POWER
Burgundy lip wearers emit a feeling of sophistication, with the shade also symbolising “wealth and ambition.”
According to Monica and Ieva, wearing a burgundy lip to an expensive restaurant will let everyone know your worth.
ORANGE: EXCITEMENT & ADVENTURE
This bright and energetic shade often portrays optimism and rejuvenation.
“Works perfectly for a bolder colour for days out,” Monika advises.
But while orange can signify a woman has an adventurous side, there’s also a downside.
“Wearing the colour orange can also represent immaturity and frivolity,” the doctor warns.

Alternatively, if you’re not brave enough to opt for something quite as bright, then why not settle on “friendly and energetic” peach?
Inbetween a pink and orange, this colour evokes a sense of “joy, warmth and youthfulness” and is best suited for days out with friends.
PURPLE: INDIVIDUALISTIC & STRONG
You’ve got to be super-confident to wear purple on your lips.
But according to Monica and Ieva, it’s the perfect shade for partying the night away.
BLUE: EXOTIC & CREATIVE
There’s no denying that blue is probably the most daring colour you can choose for your lips.
It’s usually worn by women who aren’t afraid to stand out from the crowd, as it has the power to make a quirky outfit pop.
While this edgy lipstick shade is said to be ideal for an exotic holiday, it’s not all good news.
“Although the colour blue is often worn by creative and quirky people
it’s also associated with aloofness, unfriendliness and a lack of
emotion,” Monika warns.
