You can buy your very own church – complete with an organ – for £295k

Keep it as a church or – depending on consents – make it a dreamy home (Picture: Rightmove)

Plenty of natural light, high ceilings… and pews. What more could you want from your dream home?

All this could be yours for the bargain price of £295,000, as Burton Joyce Methodist Church on Meadow Lane in Nottingham goes on the market.

The church is Grade II listed and rather grant from the outside, with a large, ornate windows and a spire.

There’s even a large cross above the door – and multiple smaller crosses on the fence outside, just to really hammer home the Christian connections.

Inside, those holy vibes continue, with pews and a raised pulpit all still in place.

There’s also a sign hanging at the back that reads ‘praise the Lord’, but we’re not sure if they’d include that in the sale.

All rather grand, right? (Picture: Rightmove)

The 3,252 sq ft property is on the market for less than the price of your average house in England, and could be used as a place of worship or converted into a rather unique home – subject to planning permission.

Inside, a main entrance takes you through a small vestibule, then a hallway, which leads to the main church area, complete with a gently sloping suspended timber floor.

Along with the pulpit and pews we mentioned earlier, there’s also a large organ (get learning how to play now, we say) and a spot to rest your hymn sheet.

Behind this is another large room, which can work as a social hall or schooling area, and various smaller rooms off to the side that provide storage, an office, a kitchen, and bathrooms, including a single disabled loo.

All this sits under a pitched slate covered roof, red brick, and gorgeous stone detailing.

Location-wise, you’d be on the corner of Meadow Lane and Main Street, within the rather pleasant village of Burton Joyce.

Nearby are shops, including a Co Op and a Boots, and there are easy bus and rail connections towards Nottingham’s centre.

If you fancy booking in a viewing, you can find out more information through the Innes listing.
