Ant and Dec first met on the children’s television show, Byker Grove in 1990.

They played PJ (Ant) and Duncan (Declan) – Dec was on the show from 1989 and Ant joined in 1990.

Their friendship began when they shared storylines on the show, creating a bond off-screen as well as on.

After they left the show they briefly became popstars, before embarking on their incredible career as the UK’s top TV presenters.

Meanwhile, Ant and Dec returned to telly screens on the weekend for Saturday Night Takeaway.

The ITV1 family show had been off air for a week because of the rugby.
